found an amazingly priced vintage record player and the staff very generously spent 15+ minutes helping us pack it and plan how to transport it to another state. cannot recommend this shop enough! i have never seen such a large collection of old audio electronics in one place, and certainly not in such good condition.

Objectively, he has anything you need home audio wise and the selection is fantastic. Subjectively, the man who runs the store is so insufferable, pretentious, and rude. Been in a few times to look for a new record player and also new cartridge for my record player and every time I leave without buying anything. I go back hoping someone helpful will be in, but am always met with the worst customer service. I love small businesses more than anything, but really struggle to even consider supporting this place.

I brought some vintage audio gear to "Play It Again Sam" to sell and it sold quickly. Can't say enough about how interesting this place is for an audio enthusiast from way back. There is a ton of amazing vintage equipment here.

Agree with the other reviewers here regarding the owner's attitude. Came here to see if he could repair the headphones input on my receiver. Walked in and asked him if he could do repairs. Dude totally dismissed me saying he could not fix it. Did not even ask what the problem is. He just glanced at it and said "It's too new." Condescending, irritable tone. Look, I get it if you are unable to fix it, but at least don't have an attitude. Likely will look elsewhere for repairs or if I decide to upgrade my set up.

I’m echoing a previous review here, specifically regarding the owner’s attitude. I stopped in today to ask about replacing the needle on my record player. I didn’t have the cartridge with me, but I did have the model number of the turntable. Instead of a straightforward explanation, I was met with immediate annoyance and a very condescending tone. I was told—quite bluntly—that the model number “didn’t matter,” and that I could tell him it was some wildly made-up model and it still wouldn’t help. Maybe that’s technically true, but the delivery was unnecessary and dismissive. What stood out most was what happened next. When I calmly said thank you, made it clear I wasn’t going to argue, and started to disengage, his tone suddenly softened and he backed down quite a bit—almost like he realized he’d gone too far. Personally, I find that kind of switch troubling. Acting confrontational until someone pushes back, then immediately dialing it down, isn’t confidence—it just feels like bully behavior that doesn’t hold up when challenged. Meanwhile, the employee there seemed genuinely willing to help, but was completely overshadowed. I honestly felt bad for him. Even if the owner was right
